Summary report of the event: Department of Computer Applications, CBSAorganized expert talk on title “Blockchain Technology” on 25 th January, 2023. The aim of the talk was to introduce students with blockchain as the future of technology. Blockchain is the new buzz word and holds great opportunity for people pursuing computers and allied fields. This Technical Event was conducted at department level. The expert talk was focused on decentralized, distributed and public digital ledger that is used to record transactions across many computers, so that, the record cannot be altered retroactively without the alteration of all subsequent blocks and the consensus of the network. This permanent record keeping makes blockchain as the leading technology in future.
Student Feedback:Students attended the session and benefited from the talk. Students participated in a very enthusiastic way and the talk received an overwhelming response. They learned about latest market requirement based on blockchain technologies.

Learning Outcomes:Students learned about blockchain application in the field of IoT, Banking, financial services, insurance, supply chain, smart contracts etc. Along with covering the technical aspects of blockchain. Students also got to know about blockchain as the fastest growing technology. He also mentioned facts such as United Arab Emirates is the first country which has planned to adopt blockchain entirely in all Banking services. During the session, software used for implementing blockchain was introduced. Software such as Ledger, Hyper Ledger Fabric, etc. was implemented and a demo was illustrated. It became very clear that giant Tech. companies and nations are looking towards this technology as their core business product and service.
