Experts Detail
Brief details of the event highlights: Department of Computer Applications, CBSA organized an expert talk on topic “Image Processing” on 15th November, 2022. The aim of this event was to explain in detail about Real World Images, its Binary representation in computer memory, pixel and its organization. The resource person detailed how the size of an image is determined by the dimensions of the pixel array. She also gave a clear idea of 2D Image and its Dimensional Representation, different types of Image and different Image File Formats. She then elucidated the various stages of Image Processing Computer Graphics Concepts, Image Enhancement Techniques, Image Oriented tools (MATLAB & R Tool), Image Brightening, Noise Removal, Filter, Image Restoration, Image Segmentation Techniques, Lines and Edges its types.

Learning Outcomes: Students got to know about computer algorithms to perform image processing on digital images. Digital image processing has the same advantages over analog image processing as digital signal processing has over analog signal processing — it allows a much wider range of algorithms to be applied to the input data, and can avoid problems such as the build-up of noise and signal distortion during processing.
This event helped in attaining:
PO4: Conduct investigations of complex Computing problems: User search-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO5: Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, adapt and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern computing tools to complex computing activities, with an understanding of the limitations.
PO7: Life-long Learning: Recognize the need, and have the ability, to engage in independent learning for continual development as a computing professional.
