Brief details of the event highlights: Department of Computer Applications, CBSA, organized a Faculty Development Programme on topic “Machine Learning using Python” from 29th May to 2nd June, 2023 in collaboration with Techlive Solutions. The aim of this FDP was to enhance the learning and programming skills of faculty members, to make them aware about modern analytical tools and methodologies. It provided an opportunity to acquire knowledge about current technological developments in relevant fields. The FDP mainly focuses on Machine Learning algorithms and their applications with practical approach.
Day wise Contents of the Programme:
Day 1 Python Basics (Syntax, variables & operators, loops, conditions, functions, classes & oops , file handling) Variables, Data Types, Loops, Conditional Statements, functions, decorators, lambda functions, file handling, exception handling, etc.
Day 2 Python modules (PIP, Modules, json, requests, numpy, pandas, matplot, seaborn). An interactive session on Art of saying No.
Day 3 Machine Learning Intro (Basics, types, algorithms, data visualization, collection data, scraping) Make use of Numpy and Pandas to implement numerical algorithms: Learn to use Numpy for Numerical Data, Array and Matrix manipulation Library Numpy.
Day 4 Machine Learning (data preprocessing, Classification, Regression, training models, checking accuracy).
Day 5 Machine Learning (Clustering and KNN Algorithm, Image classifier, keras, tensorflow) Learn to use Pandas for Data Analysis: Three important data structure of pandas: Series, Data Frame, Panels.
Faculty Feedback: Faculty Members participated enthusiastically and inquired about the different Libraries available in the Python that supports Machine learning. They also passionately participated in the special session on Yoga and Art of saying No. They found it very interesting, informative and helpful.
