Summary report of the event:
An Industrial visit to Amartex Industries Ltd, Derabassi, was organized by Department of Commerce, CBSA for the students of B.Com.-1st Semester on 5th October, 2023. Amartex Industries Limited provides an exclusive range of brands such as Groviano, Amartex Supermarkets and more for decades.Amartex is fully integrated manufacturing company with a balance manufacturing and marketing. All products rolling out of their premises find their way to every nook & corner in the region through company owned retail outlets. The weaving unit, the dyeing section, the drying area wherever you look quality makes its presence felt.
Students were taken to Unit by Mr. Rakesh Saini(Production Manager), where they were explained about the weaving, Dying and Drying of Cloth . The entire process of Manufacturing cloth is done both manually and automatically with the help of various machines present in the branch. The staff of the plant was very cordial and students actively participated in the process and their queries were handled properly. Visit was organized with aim to provide practical understanding of the cloth manufacturing process, from raw material to finished goods. Students were excited about the integration of automation and data analytics into cloth manufacturing processes. They noted down how these advancements enhance efficiency and product quality.

Students applauded the infrastructure of company along with the processing unit, which enlightened them about Cloth Manufacturing process and techniques. The entire industrialist appreciated the efforts of CGC for organizing the industrial visit, which enhance the professional and practical knowledge of the students. Students experiences offer valuable insights for the industry’s continued growth and evolution. Students acknowledged the challenges they face in the industry, such as global competition and evolving consumer preferences.

Learning Outcomes:
PO1: Students gain firsthand exposure to the entire cloth manufacturing process. They learn about the different stages involved, such as Spinning, weaving, dyeing, printing and quality control.
PO2: Students acquire the knowledge, skills in different areas of communication, decision making and innovation in day to day business activities. They also gain practical, real world experience by witnessing manufacturing processes. This hand-on learning helps them understand the theoretical concept they have studied in classroom.
