MBA Dept., CBSA organized an industrial visit to Amar Ujala, Panchkula on 24th Nov.2022 for first semester MBA students. The students learned about the overall processing of a newspaper, their marketing strategies, financial models, hierarchy and other administrative activities done by Amar Ujala.
Students got an opportunity to meet with the managers of the company who explained the various segments of the Amar Ujala and shared details insight about the input processing and output that precisely make a copy of the newspaper. They explained the whole process of printing that takes place in night, also learnt that the newspaper industry is a loss making industry because per unit newspaper cost is near about Rs 25 and they sell this in the market at around Rs 12, they generate their revenue solely from advertisement.
Then students were taken to the printing section where they saw the huge printing machine. This printing machine prints about 45000 copies in an hour. The visit also provided them with relevant examples where the principals of management were followed for attaining higher profit. They gave ample time to the students for query session.
Student Feedback: Practical exposure to the students and they were very excited about the entire experience. The industry visit was an exhilarating experience for the students who went for the visit.
