Brief details of the event highlights: MBA Dept., Chandigarh Business School of Administration, CGC Landran organized presentations by students on creating awareness towards water conservation and recharge water on 4th May, 2022. This activity was conducted under the campaign proposed by the Ministry of Jal Shakti for the implementation of "Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain-2022".
The presentations detailed the practices followed at Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran for sustainable water management. CGC Landran has three Rainwater Harvesting wells which every year contribute a little towards decreasing underground water level. The college also has a‘Sewage Treatment Plant’ which on daily basis treats approximately 4 to 4.5 lakh litres of water. The treated water is used for watering the plants, cleaning and excess water used for canal technology.
Learning for the students: The students of MBA 2nd semester presented the different practices of sustainable water managementincluding ‘Rainwater Harvesting’ reuse of water through ‘Sewage Treatment Plant’. This activity not only created awareness regarding sustainable water management among the students but also encouraged students to take initiatives towards conserving water for the liveliness of all living beings on the earth.
