Brief details of the event highlights: Department of Computer Applications, CBSA organized Orientation and Induction Program to welcome new batch of BCA & MCA students. The induction program was designed for 8 days starting from 24thAugust to 2ndSeptember, 2022. The aim of this induction program was to facilitate new student to get familiar and adjust with new environment and also inculcate various ethics and culture of the institution. The induction was designed in such a way that it could help students to build bond with other students and faculty members.
Through this program students learnt about various institutional policies, processes, practices, culture and values. Numbers of sessions were conducted during this whole week catering to different needs of the students.
Day 1: The induction program began with session taken by Class counsellors where they introduced about clubs, activities and events which department organizes for enhancing the skills of students. After that faculty members of Training and Placement Program (TPP) department shared that how TPP Program offers a 360-degree Training that results in the overall Personality Development and Industry ready students. Pre-placement Training can be broadly classified as follows:
Day 2: On second day Talent hunt began enthusiastically energetic & competitive where fresher’s were given a platform to showcase their talents and build confidence. Various Activities were there in the competition like singing, dancing, scavenger hunt etc.
Day 3: On third day session on Art of living was organised for students, the speaker for this session was Mr. Sanchit, faculty of Art of living. It was very interactive and impressive session. During the session the speaker made students felt stress relieved with his various techniques. Some of the students made themselves registered for “Art of Living” workshop.
Day 4: On fourth day Alumni talk session took place to enhance the creative and innovative mindset among 1stsemester students. The talk was themed for students to focus on their course better learning and analysing their memory. The session was taken by Rajat Narang, Rajwant Kaur &Nidhi Rana They said that job description also consists of, branding the company so that the professionals get attracted towards the best talent, there should be a proper talent pipeline in a proactive manner, planning for future resources, and how the higher standards can becreated and maintained.
Day 5: On day fifth students got session on Human values “Ethical Dilemma” conducted by Ms. Gagandeep Bhullar, Head DSW. Ms. Bhullar shared her experience on the topic “Ethical Dilemma” with students and guide them “how to stay positive and stress-free in difficult situations in life” and also emphasized on the decision making while in dilemma.
After that session Director Academics-Dr. J.S. Khattra, took the session and explained about all the assessment process, attendance criteria, leave criteria, rules of college and many more academic topics to the students.
Day 6: Day sixth began with interaction of students with Industry expert to make them understand what industries are expecting from students. Session was taken by Mr. Navneet Singh (Head of IT & Marketing). The aim of this session was to acquaint the audience with the prevailing cyber security threats and to educate them about the safety and security measures to adopt while using the internet and various applications.
Day 7: One day trip to “Nexus Elante” mall was organised for students. Students enjoyed a lot over there. This trip added numerous fun and entertainment options to students. They felt fresh and rejuvenating.
