1. Brief details of the Industry:
Micro Turners Group, founded in 1969 is one of the largest integrated automotive component manufacturers in India. Micro Turners is mainly into the manufacturing of Transmission Gear Train Assembly, Kick Start mechanism, Gear shifting Towers & Forks and Special Turned Components. Micro Turners basically caters to the needs to two wheeler manufacturers. It has total 10 plants operating at various regions across India. Micro turners have very strong Clientele of Automobile manufacturers like Tata, Bajaj, Yamaha, TVS, Suzuki, and Ashok Leyland etc.
2. Brief details of the event highlights:
The MBA Department has organized one day industrial visit to “Micro Turners” at Jhamari on 10th January, 2020 for the MBA 2nd semester students. This industry is a leading manufacturer of Seamless Tubes, Press & Fabrication Components, Logistic Services, and Industrial Mart Services etc. Mr. Daljeet Singh, Human Resource Head shared the day to day operations of the industry and cleared all the queries of the students. He discussed the problems being faced by the industry in arranging raw materials to the distribution of the manufactured products. He also explained the ways to overcome the problems while being patient and analyzing the current scenario in detail. This visit helps the students to understand the importance of managerial skills required for the smooth conduct of the organization.
3. Response of the audience/ learning for the students
It was very delightful experience for the students. They learnt a lot about the various laws to be implemented in the industry like Minimum wages Act, Factory Act, and Compensation Act etc. they also get to know about the ways to do manpower planning, overcome shortage of inventory and ways to handle the scrap production.
