Brief details of the event: Commerce Department, CBSA organized an online mentoring session on “Role of Emotional Empowerment in youth” on 24th April, 2021 for B.Com & M.Com final year students. The resource person of the session was Ms. Aruti Nayar, Media Professional, motivational speaker and certified life purpose coach.
Ms. Nayar has three decades of experience as a journalist with The Tribune. Recently she has been certified as a Life Purpose Coach by the International Coach Federation. She has regularly been lecturing since 1998 at the Institution of Correctional Administration, Sector-26 Chandigarh to police officials with a specific focus on gender sensation, emotional empowerment , media and police. She has written more than 500 articles on empowerment, gender, culture and society for newspapers.
The aim of conducting this mentoring session was to make students aware of the role of emotional empowerment in our life. The expert discussed about the importance of emotional empowerment for a successful life both on personal and professional front and related the session with real-life examples taken from the participating students. The expert made students realised that achieving emotional empowerment is not one time process, it can be achieved by regular practice only.
Learning for the students: Final year B.Com & M.Com. students enthusiastically participated in the session. The session created an awareness among students about the importance of emotional stability and empowerment for successful career.

Learning Outcomes: It was an extremely inspiring motivational session for students as they learned altogether a new concept which is not taught to them in their regular curriculum also session created awareness among students about the impact of emotional empowerment on their career. Students related the session with their current state and got answers to many of their emotional disturbances in their lives due to the current pandemic going on and other such reasons. It was a very interactive and lively session.
