Brief details of the event highlights: Department of Commerce, CBSA organized an Orientation and Induction Program to a welcome new batch of B.Com and M.Com students. The program was designed for two weeks starting from 23rdAugust to 2nd September, 2022. The aim of this two weeks induction program was to facilitate new students to get familiar and adjust with new environment and also inculcate various ethics and culture of the institution. The induction was designed in such a way that it could help students to build bonds with other students and faculty members and get to know about how the department functions, the hierarchy followed and whom they can contact in case of any academic and non- academic queries.
Through this program students learnt about various institutional policies, processes, practices, culture and values.Number of sessions were conducted during these two weeks catering to different needs of the students.
Induction Program covered different Aspects:
- Familiarization with department: Students were introduced to the department, its working, its procedures and faculty members.
- Mentoring Sessions: This session was conducted to introduce students to their respective Class counsellors and complete the registration process
- Session on Information about the Course & Internal Award Policies: Session focussed on informing students about the various subjects to be covered during the course, How mid Semester examinations are conducted,Criteria for awarding internal assessment, Mandatory requirements of marinating 75% attendance
- Session on Placement Policies and Procedures: This session was conducted to make students aware about placement policies and training session for that purpose.
- Motivational sessions: on “Power of Mind” were conducted to motivate our new students to achieve their career goals.
- Alumni Interactions with successful alumni of the department were organised so that they share their experience with young minds on how they can explore the opportunities provided by college for their better development
- Personality Development& communication skills sessions were also organised.
- Talent hunt activity- Induction program was ended with enthusiastic energetic & competitive where freshers were given a platform to showcase their talents and build confidence. Various Activities were there in the competition like singing, dancing, logo designing etc.
Response of the audience/ learning for the students:All the freshers students participated in the session enthusiastically and took keen interest inall the sessions.
