Brief details of the event highlights: Department of Commerce, CBSA organized an expert session on “Starting-up for a Better Tomorrow- Procedural and Ethical Steps Involved in Start-ups” on 21st March 2022. The expert session was organized for 1st year students of B.Com (Hons). The resource person of seminar was Mr. Raj Grover. Mr Grover is established and successful entrepreneur, having 20 years of experience in digital transformation. He started his own venture, Transform Partner, in order to challenge the ‘status quo’, to embrace the change transformation, and to take risk on new and disruptive technologies.
The seminar was conducted with an objective to make students understand the concept of startups, their importance and various procedural and ethical steps involved in setting up a startup. The guest speaker enlightened our students with immense knowledge on startups by sharing his experiences and highlighting varied skills, competencies and procedural steps required to set up a startup and be a successful entrepreneur. Such seminars act as an instrument for creating positive start-up culture. This seminar helped in providing knowledge to the students about the generation, importance & applicability of new idea and how it can be turned into successful entrepreneurial activity.
Student Feedback: The students of commerce department participated with full zeal and enthusiasm in the session. The student’s showed keen interest in entrepreneurial activities as many of them have objective of having their own start-ups in future. The workshop was highly interactive.

Learning Outcomes: This seminar helped students in gaining knowledge about the procedures to be followed to begin a start-up. It also guided them about the crucial entrepreneurial skills required for start ups.
