An industrial visit to Essel Bath Fittings Pvt. Ltd., Derabassi was organized for 50 students of B.Com (Hons.) as part of the academic initiative to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical industry exposure. The visit aimed to familiarize students with real-world manufacturing processes, organizational structure, quality control practices and modern business operations in the sanitary ware and bath fittings industry. The students were warmly welcomed by the plant head Mr. Sandeep Lohan and the management team, who provided an introductory presentation on the product portfolio of the organization. The session also highlighted the company’s market presence, innovation strategies and commitment to quality and sustainability. During the plant tour, students observed various stages of production, including raw material processing, molding, machining, polishing, electroplating, assembly and packaging. Industry experts explained the functioning of advanced machinery, automation systems and safety protocols followed on the shop floor. Special emphasis was given to quality assurance techniques, testing laboratories and standardization procedures adopted to ensure durable and defect-free products. An interactive question-and-answer session was conducted at the end, where students clarified their queries regarding career opportunities, skill requirements and current industry trends. The management encouraged students to develop technical knowledge, professional ethics and adaptability to succeed in the corporate world. Overall, the industrial visit proved to be highly informative and enriching. It enhanced students’ practical knowledge, motivated them to explore industrial careers and strengthened their understanding of business operations beyond classroom learning.
